About Nash

Amanda adopted Nash in 2014 from a Denver rescue. He was a Pyrenees-tick hound mix and became her best friend and travel companion. "Adventures with Nash Dog: Welcome Home” is her debut children’s book in the series, presenting Nash’s adoption day and his early experiences with a new family—the messy, joyful, and loving moments that come with welcoming a dog into your home.

The story follows Nash — a lovable mutt — on his big “adoption day,” meeting his new family, learning about his new life, and navigating the twists, bumps, and joys of belonging. Amanda's goal is to spark kids’ imagination and empathy, celebrating themes of family, patience, adventure, and new beginnings.

The inspiration for finally making this dream a reality came after losing her mother to cancer and a few months later Nash himself. Amanda channeled her grief into creativity: she decided to share her love of adventure through the eyes of her late dog in this heartwarming series.
